I ordered the Kingdom of Ash hangover recovery kit from fae crate. I have never ordered a book box from FaeCrate, or any other book box company before. So I really did not know what to expect. My best friend and I decided that because we have both invested so much time and money into the Throne of Glass universe, we thought it would be nice way to end off the series with a crate.

To start this post, I'll begin with the ordering process. I order this crate months before it was to come in, and months before Kingdom of Ash was actually released. I ordered it in August, the book came out October 23rd, and the boxes weren't going to be sent out until two weeks after the book was released. It is a hangover kit for after you are done reading the book, so the wait made sense. Anyway, FaeCrate has a super cute and user friendly website. The Crate itself cost 39.99$ USD and the shipping was an extra 15.99 for a grand total of 55.98$ USD. Unfortunately for me I live in Canada was I paid a bit over 70 dollars for this box. Normally I would not spend that much amount of money on a bit of merchandise but because this was the ending of a series I am quite obsessed with, so I just said f**k it.
The box it came in was customized just for Kingdom of Ash. The box itself is amazing, and I don't see myself getting rid of it any time soon. It's just so beautiful! A bit worn of the edges but that is to be expected when it has to travel so far.

Lets talking about some of my favourite things that came from this box.
The blanket:
This is probably the best thing to come from the whole hangover kit. The blanket is huge and warm. It sits on my couch now, next to my Game of Thrones blanket. This is be far my favourite product in the box, and made the box worth getting for me. And don't worry the creases go away! Also it can be put in the washing machine to be washed.

Little Rowan:
Little plush rowan is super cute especially with his little tattoos running down his face. However, I'm really not the type of person to have collectable items laying around my house, so he mainly sits on my bookshelf in my office. But he still makes me smile when I see him.

The art work:
There are three main pieces of art work in the box which are beautiful, first there is a small print of the photo that is on the blanket, then there's a photo of Yrene and Choal dancing which is quite sweet, and on the back of that print is a photo of Nesryn and Sartaq. These prints were made by amazingly talented artist. I really enjoy the prints however, I felt like they were a bit too small. I understand needing to make them small because they need to fit in the box, but they easily could have been the size of a regular piece of paper, and they would have fit just fine. I just find that because of their size, they are awkward to put on display.

The little things:

The box also came with an assortment of little products like a hot chocolate packet called Aelin's Chocolate Cake, a pin, and a scented candle called 'Bromance' with artwork of Choal and Dorian on the tin. This were cute little additions to the box that made me smile.
Now the things I wasn't so impressed with:
Although this box had some great things inside, there was a couple things that made me question why it was in the box. It kind of seemed like they ran out of things to put in the box, and needed more last minute substitutions. It was also weird that they did not really use any big quotes from the series.
Pillow cover

This I found is a weird product that they added to the box, something I believe was definitely not a selling point for the box. I don't use it, I don't like the material, I am not a fan of the quote that was used. This would have been the perfect opportunity for "I will not be afraid" "To whatever end" or even the classic rattle the stars quote.
Wooden sign thing:

This is the weirdest product in the whole damn box. This product is actually really annoying to me, it's so cheap and awkward compared to everything else in the box. Why have a random piece of wood shaped like a lily with a quote from the book? What is the significance of the lily? It is incredibly weird.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think it is something I would subscribe to. I live in Canada so the US dollar to Canadian dollar conversion is a little too much for me to subscribe to. But I also think I wouldn't want to get one of the these boxes if I wasn't completely invested into the series, or author. I received many little items which are cute, but I wouldn't buy them separately. All in all my experience with the FaeCrate Kingdom of Ash hangover kit, was okay, personally I would have liked it if I could have just bought the blanket and that's it. Other than that everything else was an add on and I don't really use any of it.
